Employment Opportunities

Marketing & Development Coordinator

Are you looking for part-time work as you begin to enter the workforce or head back into it after a break? This role is for self-starters who are able to work fully remote in a very flexible work schedule.

Who we are: We are Access Press, Minnesota’s Disability Community newsource. We are a nonprofit monthly newspaper available in print and online. We use social media and relationships within the community to market our work. We are passionate about ensuring people with disabilities have a trusted resource for news and information. We are proudly pity-free, providing news and information versus inspirational pieces.

These qualities are important to the position: We want to hire an energetic, donor-centered person who is also passionate about ensuring people with disabilities have the resources they need to live their best lives. You should have a positive outlook, the ability to build and maintain relationships with funders, attention to detail and follow-through, the ability to meet deadlines, excellent communications and collaborative working style, high ethics and integrity and the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives.

You should use social media and understand the basics of a newspaper production. You should be comfortable reaching out to people you don’t know. We use Microsoft Office 365, internet, e-mail, social media (Facebook and Twitter). We also have a donor database and use Bill.com to invoice advertisers. You aren’t required to know all of this, but we do ask that you be comfortable with learning a new software by watching videos online.

We also prefer that you have some knowledge of disability issues. We are a small, four-person, part-time staff. We need a person who isn’t afraid to pave the way. There isn’t always a map for all you do, so being comfortable with ambiguity and scrapy non-profit work is a must. Want to start or restart your career in marketing and development? We offer the mentorship and the ability for you to take on and own projects that will help you expand your career opportunities. Please see our position description.
