The 1999 National Wheelchair Softball Tournament takes place Thursday through Saturday, August 19-21.  The city of Brooklyn Park, in conjunction with Courage Center, will host this year’s tournament.  It is the first time Brooklyn Park has been host to the tournament.   All games will be held at the Brooklyn Park Activity Center, Brooklyn Park.

The St. Paul Thunder looks to repeat as champions and continue its stranglehold on the title.  The Thunder has been a dynasty, winning seven of the last eight championships.

Two other Minnesota  teams  are looking to  lay  claim  to  the Thunder’s  title – the St. Paul Saints and the  Rolling  Twins.  “We’re ranked sixth overall, but we expect to do better than sixth  place,” said Rolling Twins player Kurt  Greniger.  “We’d like to win it all, but it’ll be difficult.”

Game times are tentative, but teams will be playing from morning into evening on Thursday, August 19 and Friday, August 20.  The Championship game will be approximately 11 AM Saturday, August 21.
